lyrics

I should be more forgiving
But I keep forgetting
I wish I was good at living
But I feel like a cartoon
Lonely as the moon tonight

Hope can be a bird with oily feathers
Flailing all together
They say there's something always better
And it will be here soon
Lonely as the moon tonight
And that heartless satellite is beaming out the blues

It don't really matter
You can pray away the rain
It's coming down just the same

If it makes you feel better
You can change the rules of the game
When you're the only one left to play

No way to recapture
All the things that we wanted to say
Fear got in the way

We fall around in circles
Among the remnants of our comforts
Trying to find some time to save the world
On a sunny afternoon
Following the footsteps of fools
No one has ever heard of your favorite tune
And we're lonely as the moon tonight
